Improve All-Around Skills

Going from B2 to C1 requires you to master reading, listening, writing, and speaking skills well beyond the basics. Your English must be both functional and nuanced, to the point where you can change your tone and vocabulary based on the social context and environment.

You’ll learn to comprehend almost any speaker and need little help understanding others. From there, you’ll be able to effortlessly communicate with others, read complex texts from different fields, and deliver excellent reports and presentations.

In other words, your C1 English tutor will help you adapt to any environment. During lessons, you will develop a robust set of mental tools you can use in any situation.

Conquer New Subjects

Many non-native speakers can communicate factual information. However, few of them can express ideas and abstract concepts. And in that group, even fewer can synthesize ideas and present profound conclusions and sub-themes. This last level of mastery is reserved for C1 and C2 students, indicating high fluency.

You’ll learn to absorb and express complex ideas, venturing even outside your area of expertise. Moreover, you’ll be able to understand key points and learn new things entirely in English, without any need to seek outside help or resort to your native language.

C1 lessons will mark a new level of confidence in your skills, where you can rely on your English to go well past your comfort zone in terms of subjects and ideas.

Think in English

At some point on your journey, you’ll discover an ability to switch to thinking in English almost effortlessly. Many learners report that going between their native tongue and English is like switching train tracks. You can almost go back and forth by pushing a lever in your mind.

There’s very little you can’t do in English after this happens. Even when you don’t understand something or miss a colloquialism, you’ll be more likely to look it up in an English dictionary than try and translate it. Your language will become intuitive, a part of life.

This level of fluency requires a lot of practice, which is why your tutor will help guide you through creating a “mental train track” of your own during C1 lessons.

I studied at many English language learning centers, but I liked your online platform. Here, attention is focused on the development of colloquial speech, and this, in my opinion, is the main and most important thing.

These are my first courses, and I have only good impressions of these classes. It was interesting for me to communicate with people who later became very good friends. The teacher always explained and corrected if something was wrong. All the lessons were very interesting and fun. Despite our different ages, we always understood each other and laughed at the same things. I want to wish Promova prosperity.

Foreign languages have always been very difficult for me. Here they gave me hope that I would be able to learn English. There were a lot of oral exercises that captured those topics that I knew from school. Thanks to our teacher. A lot depends on him.

Having completed the Advanced course, I want to note the high level of training, an interesting form of teaching, a tangible increase in knowledge, as well as good teaching aids. Very interesting topics, bright, clear. I would love to continue studying this direction.

I am completely satisfied with the training. From the learning process, I would like to highlight: a large amount of communication in the classroom, giving a huge conversational practice, a favorable, friendly atmosphere in the online classroom, and simple and effective methods of presenting grammatical material (many obscure points in grammar have been eliminated).

Frequently asked questions

What can you do at the Advanced level?

At the C1 level, Advanced English learners have an excellent command of English and can handle pretty much any situation. With these skills, you can comfortably work at an international business or live abroad. You can express ideas freely and spontaneously without much searching for expressions. Moreover, you can combine information from many different sources and come to your own conclusions.

C1 English speakers have access to international opportunities. However you often need formal proof of skills such as a language certificate. IELTS and TOEFL exams are common options. For example, an IELTS score between 6,5 and 7,5 makes you a certified C1 speaker. You can add it to your resume when applying for jobs or education opportunities.

How can I get to the C1 English level?

Getting to an advanced level of English takes hundreds of hours of practice, whether we get it from growing up in an English-speaking environment or while studying at an adult age. At this point, you have unconscious mastery of the language and don’t need any effort to understand or speak it.

Reaching C1 takes time and immersion. You must venture past familiar interests to read, talk, write, and listen about topics you know nothing about. Absorbing new information in English will help your mind adapt and increase your mastery of the language.

Who is this course for?

English lessons for advanced speakers help learners go from good to great. Suppose you already have a good command of the language and need an extra push to pass formal exams for immigration or studying abroad. In that case, C1 English lessons can help you get there.

In addition, you can benefit from working with a C1 tutor if you’re a professional looking to improve your communication skills. For example, you might want to learn specialized topics in business English, finance, legal vocabulary, and so on.

Is Advanced English difficult?

C1 stands for fluency in a wide range of contexts and mastery of both basic and complex grammar. In other words, it’s the next highest skill level before native-like fluency. Of course, some learners are naturally gifted and get there rather quickly. However, in general, going from B2 to C1 is probably the biggest leap you’ll make in your language learning journey.  Luckily, some methods and materials can help you study on your terms and play to your strengths. You can take advanced English lessons online and find out how you can improve during an introductory session with a tutor.

What is C1 English?

C1 English stands for Advanced proficiency in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). It stands for fluent expression in a wide range of contexts and situations. Put simply, it means you can watch movies, listen to podcasts, and speak English normally without having to stop and look for expressions and references.
